About this weblog

Here we'll explore the nexus of legal rulings, Capitol Hill policy-making, technical standards development and technological innovation that creates--and will recreate--the networked world as we know it. Translating legalese and technical language into plain English, we'll keep you updated on battles and decisions likely to impact the technology industry, talking to key players to help us understand not only the underlying forces shaping these decisions but also what they actually mean. Among the topics we'll touch on: intellectual property conflicts, technical architecture and innovation, the evolution of copyright, private vs. public interests in Net policy-making, lobbying and the law, and more.

About the author

Donna Wentworth has been at Harvard Law School's Berkman Center, where she's author and editor of The Filter, since its founding in 1997. She's become increasingly interested in the impact of technology on social and cultural life, and recently began research for a planned book on the subject. Donna graduated from Colby College and later completed additional coursework in English Literature and Critical Theory at Georgetown University.
