Here we'll explore the nexus of legal rulings, Capitol Hill
policy-making, technical standards development, and technological
innovation that creates -- and will recreate -- the networked world as we
know it. Among the topics we'll touch on: intellectual property
conflicts, technical architecture and innovation, the evolution of
copyright, private vs. public interests in Net policy-making, lobbying
and the law, and more.

It appears that Chevy has linked up its gas-guzzling Tahoe vehicle with the pop culture sycophant phenomenon called The Apprentice. And is asking people to make promotional videos/commercials for the vehicle. Which, yanno, is a good way to.. um, let some of that good ole 'creative expression' loose
My guess is that this link won't survive much longer, particuarly not once Chevy figures out what it is.
EDIT: as of Friday afternoon either the video is gone or the site is slashdotted - in either event the video doesn't seem to be available at that URL any longer. Here's hoping the author publishes it on another URL.
It's already kaputnik -- a Flash applet comes up with "Loading user data" and a spinning barber pole. And that's it; it spins like that 'till the cows come home without doing anything else.
P.S. the "Remember Me?" radio buttons are *still* not working.
I doubt it's a slashdotting; the page itself comes up quickly. It's just the applet then doesn't respond.
The whole thing would be slow or fail if it got a surge of traffic.
As for the remember me button, it worked a few weeks ago. Whatever change made it stop working, just undo it -- it can't be that difficult, surely. And it is your, not my, responsibility to maintain/fix the site.
You assume that their site architecture is a certain way. I envision other ways. That said, the video is still missing, which leads me to think it has been removed.
As for my "responsibility" I'll remind you once again that Copyfight runs on donated hardware & bandwidth, free software, and volunteer labor. If you think it's an easy job you're welcome to provide one of those three. Otherwise, please understand that the person who is maintaining MT (and is not me) is aware of the issue.
"Aware of the issue", but apparently taking their sweet time to get around to hitting ctrl+Z, or whatever other combo does an "undo last change" on whatever software they're using.
As of this writing it's still not working (Apr. 4 2006).

The other possibility for the infinite spinning is that the site has been slashdotted.
And yes, we're aware the button still doesn't work. Want to volunteer to maintain Moveable Type for us?
