I've not been able to find any news outlets that are covering this story, but the word among my Apple friends is that if you play a DVD with Apple's built-in DVD player you are no longer able - as of the Lion release - to capture a movie frame.
I knew that this was an Apple practice long before Lion (at least since Tiger, I think)
I don't think that Apple, at this point, started making changes to a DVD player app, technology almost obsolete for them (now macbook air rule the apple business)
